About LBQ Strategies

I’m currently the founder of LBQ Strategies and vice president of strategic communications at the California Medical Association (CMA), representing over 44,000 physicians throughout the Golden State. My team crafts, implements and delivers the organization’s mission and vision to stakeholders, media and general public.

Prior, I was senior director of communications for the Sacramento Kings (NBA), where I managed public relations/strategic communications for business operations, including Golden 1 Center and Downtown Commons.

I served as vice president for Mercury Public Affairs from 2008-2010 where I executed strategic communication and social media campaigns for political, corporate and non-profit clients. I was the communications advisor for the No on Proposition 23 campaign (which would have suspended AB 32, California’s landmark clean energy and

climate solutions law), the Pickens Plan, Building America’s Future and BP with their 2010 oil spill response efforts. I also led efforts to institute Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson’s first political social media profiles.

From 2006-2008, I served as deputy communications director for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, where I executed earned media and surrogate programs on climate change, infrastructure, agricultural and economic policies. I was also responsible for coordinating the Governor’s entertainment and international media and events.

Prior, I was deputy director of operations and planning for Senator John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign and director of events for Governor Schwarzenegger’s 2006 successful re-election campaign. In both roles, I was responsible for the planning, management and execution of events ranging from editorial boards and interviews to news conferences and political rallies.

From 2003-2006, I was a senior account manager for the Washington, DC-based public affairs firm, DCI Group where I directed public affairs campaigns for pharmaceutical, political and energy clients. I also served as press secretary for Progress for America during the successful nominations of John Roberts and Samuel Alito to the U.S. Supreme Court and press secretary for a delegation of experts and journalists to United Nations’ global warming conferences.

A native of Tennessee with stints in Washington, DC and San Francisco, I love living in Sacramento with husband Michael Quigley and adopted mutts Betty White and Bailey.
