Cannabidiol, abbreviated as CBD, is a component of plant origin naturally produced by a plant from Asia, whose Latin name is ‘Cannabis Sativa’. History tells us that man has cultivated and exploited cannabis for a long time for its fibres and its flowers.
CBD is a cannabinoid found in cannabis, but also in hemp. It is, along with THC, tetrahydrocannabinol, the most important cannabinoid of cannabis. Its molecule is very similar to that of THC, however, CBD produces no psychotropic effects, and has no narcotic effect.
