From the good ol' days in 1994 when Brad was the Los Angeles 3D model sales rep and resident 3D scanner for Viewpoint Data-labs to the present rural granite shed in Elberton, Georgia - our 3D journey has come full circle!
Brad's love for the 3D world of model creation, 3D scanning, 3D printing and graphic design has followed him off and on thru his career in sales and marketing.
Taking his knowledge and expertise in marketing, design, creative content and 3D creation, he found a perfect match to combine all these elements. A 3D robotic arm to program using a custom 3D model to mill and create unique, beautiful, whimsical and traditional sculpture in stone and foam.
CarveWorks was born!
Elberton is the granite capitol of the US and our Kuka Robot, Bert had a home here. That's what brought us from California (stops in Missouri and Alabama) to Georgia.
Bert, our robot, fondly named after Bertel Thorvaldsen, a famous Danish Sculptor, has his home in a huge granite shed nestled about 20 feet away from a busy railroad track. The grand-kids all have to cover their ears
when the trains barrel by and shake the shed!
We have joined forces with Bert to
build awesome 3D creations!
Brad's oldest son Michael is a graduate of fine art and graphic design. He makes it possible to create in-house 3D models in Zbrush. He can sketch any design a customer requests and turn it into a living 3D creation! With his skills in programming and software he then programs the 6-axis robotic arm to mill the custom 3D model into stone or foam
sculptures of any size or design.
Other family members chip in on the office end of things, especially Jon. He keeps track of all the left brain duties with great care and detail (lifesaver!), but our main overseer is Molly, Michael's Lab/Mastif pup. She is the official overseer, inspector and nap taker! Please
follow with us as she becomes massive!
Our father-son team work side-by-side to create and build high quality creations for their valued customers. The final, hands-on carving and finishing is their favorite part of the process. Using their artistic and creative talents, they sculpt and sand and chisel and sculpt some more until the project is just right.
This is their true happy place.
