Baptist Institute of Pain Management: Florete Orlando MD

Pain management refers to all the pharmacological and non pharmacological approaches designed to prevent, reduce, or eliminate pain sensations. According to the National Institute of Health, there are over 40 million Americans unable to find relief from chronic pain, which is the most damaging form of pain. Within this context, pain management is designed to facilitate recovery, prevent additional health problems, and improve quality of life. Untreated, pain can grow to become a syndrome in its own right with a destructive impact on every aspect of life for the sufferer. Pain management focuses on treating the underlying cause of pain, which often entails an interdisciplinary approach.
