History

AK Joint is owned and operated by an Anchorage local, born and raised in Alaska. After growing a family and completing a nursing degree at the University of Anchorage Alaska, the founder began to work with people in hospice and terminally ill patients. While working, the founder witnessed first-hand the need for safe access to legal cannabis products and wanted to be part of the marijuana movement in Alaska.

The founder of AK Joint believes some of the most skilled master growers in the world are in Alaska and established AK Joint to bring that quality to Anchorage’s cannabis community. Although Alaska may have progressive marijuana laws, AK Joint understands not all adult users are comfortable with being seen entering a cannabis dispensary. The founder sought a space that was both convenient and private and found the perfect spot tucked away building in South Anchorage.

Staff

No one is a novice after visiting AK Joint. Their team of budtenders are dedicated to education as much as they are quality products. Anchorage’s 21 and up cannabis users are welcomed to ask questions about any of their products or even book a private appointment to explore the menu with the added security of a completely confidential retail experience. AK Joint hosts community outreach as well, such as Weed 101 classes that cover topics from cooking with cannabis to growing your own.

AK Joint offers a selection of 24 unique strains, all cultivated with the best practices and lab tested to ensure only clean and potent products line its shelves. The dispensary team plans on stocking in-house flowers by spring 2018, cultivated by AK Joint’s very own master grower. 2019 looks pretty high, too. AK Joint aims to debut their brand of edibles the following year.
