Canada-based cannabis company Aphria Inc. said Friday it appointed Brett Marchand as senior vice president of Supply Chain, effective Feb. 11. Marchand was previously vice president of supply chain and logistics Canada at The Northwest Company, where he oversaw a supply network that supported access to 140 retail grocery and general merchandise stores. "Brett's tenure in similar roles across a broad scale of growth-focused companies has led to an impressive record of optimizing corporate operational strategies and maximizing profitability," said Aphria president Jakob Ripshtein. "With the addition of leaders like Brett, Aphria continues to build bench strength that will propel the company's growth as the cannabis industry evolves." Aphria's stock, which was still inactive in premarket trade, has tumbled 24% over the past three months, while the ETFMG Alternative Harvest ETF has gained 2.2% and the S&P 500 has slipped 3.6%.
