Austria's biggest hemp fair takes place in the heart of Vienna. From 26 to 29 April the MARX HALLE opens its doors to the premiere of the HANFEXPO.
On 13.000m² exhibition space more than 100 exhibitors present their products for cultivation, care, fertilization and plant protection, as well as novelties for cosmetics, textiles, building materials and food. Austria's largest hemp fair brings together experts from medicine, science, business and politics, numerous entrepreneurs with a wide variety of products and interested parties under one roof. Hemp is topical! New medical studies as well as new regulations and laws are spreading all over the world. In spring 2019, the WHO published a recommendation on the reclassification of cannabis in which it advises less restrictive use of the plant and its active ingredients. In Austria, hemp was voted medicinal plant of the year 2018 by the Herbal Medicinal Products Platform Austria (HMPPA) - a network of doctors and professors - and the former member of the National Council Dr. Peter Kolba initiated a petition for the availability of medical cannabis together with the Alliance Chronic Pain. Special attention is paid to the comprehensive education and information transfer to all relevant topic areas around the all-round plant hemp.

Charity Project of HANFEXPO 2019 with REGIO Coffee
Together with REGIO, HANFEXPO supports the Angelman Association Austria. Since 1991, Spar's own coffee brand in Marchtrenk has been the most modern coffee roasting plant in Austria. At the HANFEXPO 2019 REGIO is represented with two mobile espresso stations, known as APEs. Top barista will supply visitors with strong espresso and creamy cappuccino. All net proceeds will be donated to the Angelman Association Austria. The association provides both short-term and long-term support for children affected by the syndrome of the same name. As one of many projects, the house project provides lifelong care for those affected, tailored to their individual needs. At the same time, the Angelman House serves as a central information point for questions related to the disease. Information to the association is to be found under www.angelman.at. With this cooperation the HANFEXPO and REGIO would like to make a small contribution to the support of the Angelman Association.

Location
The Viennese MARX HALLE as a trade fair and event location offers ample space for national and international trade fairs. The oldest wrought iron construction in Europe allows the fair to be pleasantly divided into two areas and creates an ambience of a special kind.
In 1877, the listed building was planned by the Viennese architect Rudolf Frey and completed in 1881 on behalf of the municipal council of Vienna's royal imperial capital and residence. Once built as Vienna's central livestock market, the historic building developed into a pulsating centre of the new Neu Marx district.
The combination of industrial design and historical building creates a very special charm. The high halls, the given infrastructure and the central location, as well as the good accessibility by public transport are the best conditions for the HANFEXPO in AUSTRIA.
Over the years, MARX HALLE has firmly established itself at the top of Vienna's event and cultural scene with its high-quality positioning and is one of the top trade fair locations in Austria.
